Scenic Drive to Bandera and Hill Country State Natural Area
The drive starts in Ingram.
From Ingram, take Texas Hwy 27 east to Kerrville. From Kerrville, there are two highways to Bandera.
Texas Hwy 173 is the direct route with a high speed limit. Texas Hwy 16 is a meandering, more scenic
route with a lower speed limit.
In Kerrville, take Hwy 16 south through Medina to Bandera (about 35-40 miles). In Bandera, take Hwy 173
south through town. On the south side of Bandera, take RR 1077 west (about 10 miles) to Hill Country
State Natural Area. RR 1077 is very scenic.
Take RR 1077 back to Bandera. Then take Hwy 173 north back to Kerrville (about 30 miles). In Kerrville,
take Hwy 16 north to Hwy 27. Then take Hwy 27 west back to Ingram.
